NATIONAL, CONGRESSES & OTHER
SUCCESSES
Nothing
great to report here. The best result I know of was a 5th place in
the Pachabo by my team (Peter Lee, Bob Rowlands, Liz Phillips and one other)
which we qualified for by winning the Lady Rose.
TEAMS REPRESENTING THE MAYFIELD
In
2007/08 Mayfield won the Surrey Affiliated team of 8, and, by coming second at
the Garden Cities regional stage, qualified for the national final of 8 teams,
where they did not do well.
In
the Surrey Affiliated Club League in 2007/08 Mayfield A (Tim Cook Captain) won
the Central Region and then, represented by Tim Cook, Liz Phillips, Sean
O’Neill and Bill Hodgkiss, won the Surrey final. Mayfield B (Roy Smith Captain)
finished fourth in Division 1, with Mayfield C (Ann Madden Captain) fourth in
Division 2. In 2008/09 the A team (Tim Cook Captain) are currently leading
Division 1 with Mayfield B (Alan Bailey Captain) second.
The
NICKO teams, Mayfield A (Peter Lee Captain) and Mayfield B (Bernard Pike
Captain) did not get through many rounds in 2007/08 or 2008/09.
As
far as I am aware other Mayfield players or teams have not had any notable
success, though apologies if I have missed some.
